Artwork with nature at its core.

Handmade pieces shaped by texture, natural form, and a quiet kind of care from glazed ceramics to knitted work that's dressed a whole town.

About Clare

The maker behind the work.

I'm Clare O'Hara. I work across glazed ceramics, stitched textiles and knitted fibre, and everything I make starts in the same place: texture, natural form, and the quiet beauty of something made by hand.

My work carries a strong sense of place, a little playfulness, and a lot of care. Some of it lives in homes.

Some of it lives outdoors, in public, you may already know it without knowing me.

For years I've run Dorking's Secret Guerrilla Knitters, the people behind the colourful seasonal dressings on the much-loved Dorking Cockerel.

The Cockerel is a recognised local landmark, and over the years its knitted decorations have become part of Dorking's creative identity. The public work is playful and loud; the studio work is slower and quieter. Both come from the same hands.

Public Work

Knitting

that dresses

a town.

For years, Dorking's Secret Guerrilla Knitters have wrapped the town's most-loved landmarks in colour — the Cockerel chief among them. Seasonal, joyful, and unmistakably handmade, the installations have become part of how Dorking sees itself.

Let's make something

for your space.

A home, a gift, a window, a wall or a whole town landmark. You don't need a fully-formed brief. Most people arrive with a feeling, a colour, or a spot that needs filling, and we shape the rest together.
